#1. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
“Let’s do this one last time”
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is the definitive #1 on my list, and honestly it will be hard for any other Spider-Man movie to really top this one. Not only do I think it is the best Spider-Man movie, not only do I think this is the best Comic Book Movie, but I truly believe this is the best and most inventive and creative animated film that has ever been made.
Best known for flops like The Emoji Movie, this is the film that changed Sony Animation around for the better. It won an Oscar for best Animated Feature film, marking the first win in this category for Sony Animation. Since this film, Sony has found a niche in giving their creators the freedom to maybe get a little weird and different, but to stay fresh within the world of Animation.
That’s what Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse does best, is remaining fresh throughout. As I said earlier, the changes in animation allowed for a much more creative look and feel to the film. I don’t think anyone can really watch this movie and say it looks bland. This movie, more than any others, completely brings a Comic Book to life on the big screen.
This film also was an origin story not just for Miles Morales, but for the idea of Spider-Man as well. One of the best qualities of Spider-Man is the fact that “anyone can wear the mask.” This movie really dives into that and creates a inclusive film that touches the lives and hearts of any Spider-Man fan.
