Week 6 of the NFL Season is here. There are four teams on a bye, plus another London game. That expands a thin schedule. Still, there are 12 games on Sunday, and a few of them have caught my eye. Below are the five games on the Sunday slate I’m most excited to see.
London Game:
Houston Texans (1-4) at Jacksonville Jaguars (4-1)
About: The Jaguars are playing their second straight London game. Last week they edged the Eagles to move to 4-1. The Texans got a win, finally, in Tennessee. They also traded for Marvin Harrison, Jr., and might get Tank Dell back. Those are promising signs, but the team is going to be without David Montgomery and has been spotty on defense. The Texans are desperate for a win, but London is a home away from home for the Jaguars.
Early Games:
Baltimore Ravens (4-1) at Cleveland Browns (3-2)
About: The Browns were hot going into New York, where things cooled. The Ravens were without Lamar Jackson last week and still managed 30 points in a win over the Falcons. Now, they travel to Cleveland. These division games are always tough, but Jackson could be back. The question is whether the Browns can get the offense going again. If they can, this could be a fun game. If not, this could be lopsided.
Late Games:
Los Angeles Chargers (0-5) at Kansas City Chiefs (4-0)
About: The Chargers are due for a bye after this game while the Chiefs are fresh off a bye. That’s not a great sign for the Chargers, who are beat up along the offensive line, in the receiving group, and in general. The team hasn’t won a game, one of only three winless teams in the NFL, and it doesn’t look good for them in Week 6. Meanwhile a rested Chiefs team returns as one of three unbeatens looking to get to 5-0.
Buffalo Bills (4-1) at Las Vegas Raiders (3-2)
About: This is a battle of interesting AFC Teams. Despite a stumble in Week 4 against the Patriots, the Bills have looked like one of the best teams in the league. The Raiders, meanwhile, have lost two straight after winning the first three games. They struggled mightily in Week 5 against the Patriots. Now, they have to try and wrangle Josh Allen. That’s a tall order if they’re to get back on track.
Sunday Night Football:
Dallas Cowboys (2-3) at Green Bay Packers (3-2)
About: These games are always charged, but the Cowboys are coming off a terrible loss while the Packers looked like world beaters in Week 5. Micah Parsons could play but isn’t likely to return even to face his former team. Meanwhile, the Cowboys are hoping to find any kind of defense to keep them in the race in the NFC East. This should be a charged end to the day on Sunday.
