Week 6 of the NFL season kicks off tonight in Denver. The reigning Super Bowl champion Seahawks are visiting, bringing a 3-2 record and licking their wounds after a loss to the 49ers. The Broncos are also 3-2, having survived a scare against the Chargers last week. The Broncos are also 2-0 at home, and hope to remain unbeaten on home soil.
But this won’t be an easy game. The Broncos will be without Pat Surtain and Talanoa Hufanga, which will hurt the defense. Riley Moss is questionable, but the Broncos could certainly use him. The Seahawks, meanwhile, are still piecing it together in the backfield and have Jaxon Smith-Njigba banged up, though he’s expected to play.
For the Seahawks, I like Sam Darnold as a QB2. In the backfield, it’s been Emanuel Wilson, who has been serviceable. I like him as an RB2 in this matchup. If JSN plays, you can’t bet against him. He’s a WR1, especially with no Surtain and a gimpy Moss. I’m not starting any other pass catchers.
For the Broncos, I’m not bullish. This offense has been stuck in the mud, and playing the Seahawks won’t help. The backfield has been a complete mess. I like RJ Harvey the best, but he’s a low-end flex option. Bo Nix has been struggling, and he’s a low-end QB2 for me, though he’s probably a QB3 even in a rough week. It’s impossible to trust any of the receivers. Jaylen Waddle and Courtland Sutton are talented, but they are low-end flex dart throws.
Now, on to the Week 6 picks.
