Week 2 of the NFL season gets under way tonight as we get our first Prime Video Thursday Night Football game. And this one is a doozy. It’s a great matchup and the first game in a new stadium. Let’s dive in.

For the visiting Detroit Lions, Week 1 was a win, but it was uneven. The team ultimately scored 31 points, but it wasn’t always easy. Still, the Lions have a lot of attractive fantasy pieces that you’ll want to have in your lineup. Quarterback Jared Goff is usually a little less precise on the road, but he’s still a solid QB2 option for the week. On the ground, I love Jahmyr Gibbs this season, and I think he’ll be solid in this game. The Bills’ defense allowed David Montgomery to score three touchdowns in Week 1, and I don’t suspect they’ll shut down Gibbs. He’s an RB1.

In the passing game, the Lions are led by Amon-Ra St. Brown. He had a couple touchdowns in Week 1, including the one in overtime that led to the win. I think he’ll be just fine here against a defense that couldn’t contain Nico Collins. He should be a WR1. At tight end it’s Sam LaPorta, who had a solid Week 1. And the Lions will also try to get Jameson Williams more involved. I think LaPorta is a TE2 with upside, while I like Williams better as a boom-or-bust WR3. He’s always capable of a few big plays that make the week, but he could also have another four-to-six-point game.

For the Bills, Josh Allen started the season strong against the Texans. This Lions defense allowed 30 points and plenty of offense to the Saints at times in Week 1. I don’t think they’ll present a significant obstacle to Allen and the Bills, especially as they open a new stadium. I think he’s a high-end QB1. In the backfield, James Cook had an OK but unspectacular game. He didn’t pile up much yardage or receptions and was held out of the end zone. I suspect he’ll have a bit of a better game this week. I like him as a high-end RB2.

In the passing game, the Bills did get D.J. Moore going. The team also got a monster game from Dalton Kincaid in Week 1, as he went for 130 yards. The Lions’ pass defense was carved up by Chris Olave and other receivers in Week 1, and I don’t suspect they’ll be able to put a lid on the Bills’ weapons. I like Moore as a WR2 and Kincaid as a low-end TE1. I also like Khalil Shakir as a WR3.
