Lucasfilm and Disney have met a swell of praise with their efforts on the small screen, and as cynical as I’d like to be… there’s Ewan McGregor, watching over Luke Skywalker, and the music swept me away. They can throw all the lightsabers and ships and icons they want but in those few shots, where Obi-Wan has been waiting for so many years, “Star Wars” is alive:
I’m pretty much going in blind to this release (May 25th, 2022) and I’m sure there is talent in each performer and frame we’ve seen, I just hope there’s some heart behind this to touch on the legacy that may have been missed as the Star Wars prequels were released nearly 20 years ago. This year marks the 20th Anniversary of “Attack of the Clones.”
Directed by Deborah Chow, written by Joby Harold, executive produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor, and Joby Harold, and featuring a new main theme from John Williams, Disney and Lucasfilm will release this streaming on May 25th, 2022.
