#3. Spider-Man 2 (2004)

I think Spider-Man 2 should have been a game changer for the Comic Book Movie. This is the first real time, in the short run of CBM, that we saw how a CBM could be a drama first with the Superhero playing second fiddle. Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock really stole the show and is still one of the best CBM villains of all-time, maybe should have gotten an Oscar nom along with Willem Dafoe from the original, and Sam Raimi really leaned into what Tobey Maguire was best at, and that was playing Peter Parker. The train scene still might be one of the best moments in all of Spider-Man.
