HBO Max Pilot Reviews: The Big Bang Theory

HBO Max came out swinging by releasing a HUGE catalog of television shows. I will unveil a new series in which I watch the pilot episode from the catalog and tell you if it’s worth binging.

Today I am going to tackle one of the most popular shows of all-time, The Big Bang Theory.

A woman who moves into an apartment across the hall from two brilliant but socially awkward physicists shows them how little they know about life outside of the laboratory.

S1E1: Pilot

I will start by saying this is the first time I have ever watched an entire episode of this show. I have seen clips here and there but never watched any of the shows.

The episodes kick it off with a bang (I’m sorry). Leonard and Sheldon have this remarkable chemistry from the moment go. It is the heartbeat of the first episode as it should be.

The one-liners are remarkable in the first episode. Just line after line had you laughing out loud. The banter between the guys is silly but always just how “the guys” really are. They love to pick on each other and poke fun but we all know these guys love each other.

The introduction to Penny (Kaley Cuoco) was done so brilliantly. She’s the right amount of beautiful, charm, and ditzy that you would want to fit in with the crew. Cuoco knocked this out of the ballpark, making Penny an easy sell for me.

Funniest line: High IQ Sperm Bank

The Verdict:

Rating: 5 out of 5.

The entire pilot is remarkable. They introduce you to the people you need to know, showcase a little dabble into each one of their lives, and make you laugh the entire time. This is hands down one of the best TV Pilots I have ever watched. I would binge this show.
