It’s been a big year for Anne Hathaway. She’s taken the lead role in a number of high-profile films, with her latest being Verity, which opens Friday. This week’s binge looks back at Hathaway’s 2026 so far. Films appear in chronological order.

Mother Mary
About
: This was something of a two-hander with Michaela Cole. It’s an excellent drama and a moody film that really captivated and moved me. It remains among my favorites of the year so far and Hathaway is great in it.

The Devil Wears Prada 2
About:
A big, IP sequel that opened the summer. Hathaway slides right back into the character and has some great back-and-forth with Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep. Bonus is if you missed it in theaters, it’s on Disney+ right now!

The Odyssey
About:
This was the film of the summer, and possibly the film of the year. It’s a big, sweeping cast. And yet, Hathaway stands out. She’s likely to be a contender as Best Supporting Actress thanks in part to her work here.

The End of Oak Street
About:
This one brought summer to an end in a fun way. It’s a big sci-fi epic that feels like something different than the rest of what Hathaway did in 2026. It’s a fun film with some great moments and another great performance from Anne!
