This week we get the film IF, a family-friendly feature from writer/director John Krasinski. In honor of the film’s release, this week’s binge is focused on five previous projects feature Krasinski as an actor, writer, or director! Projects appear in chronological order.

The Office (2005-2013)
About
: This is what put Krasinski on the map. He played Jim Halpert in all the seasons of The Office and was probably one of the most beloved characters. His comedic timing and work in the series is a lot of fun. If you haven’t checked out The Office, what are you waiting for?

Away We Go (2008)
About
: This sweet dramedy sees Krasinski playing one half of a married couple, opposite Maya Rudolph, who are expecting their first child. They go on something of an adventure trying to find the perfect family home. It’s got a good cast and comes from director Sam Mendes. I enjoyed this film and Krasinski’s performance quite a bit.

13 Hours (2016)
About
: With his Office days behind him, Krasinski showed a different side by taking the lead in this feature film directed by Michael Bay. Based on a true story, this is an action film that pulls no punches. I remember being struck seeing Krasinski in a different kind of role, but he does really well here.

A Quiet Place (2018)
About
: In this feature, Krasinski wrote, directed, and starred in the film. It was a great and inventive film that spawned a sequel he did in 2020 and a prequel that is coming out later this summer. I loved the clever set up and the action here. Krasinski also delivers a great performance with a gut-wrenching third act sequence.

Jack Ryan (2018-2023)
About
: Having shown his ability to be an action lead, Krasinski offered his take on the iconic character Jack Ryan in this series on Prime Video. He was the lead in all four seasons, delivering some compelling seasons of television. I enjoyed this production and thought it was one of the better original series from Prime Video.
