2022 NFL Schedule – Week 16 Matchups

The NFL continues to roll through the holidays with games scheduled on four separate days during Week 16. Thursday (12/22) and Monday (12/26) are host to the conventional primetime night games while Saturday (12/24) and Sunday (12/25) harbor the remaining slate.

Games to Watch

The Jacksonville Jaguars (6-8) at the New York Jets (7-7) kickoff the week on Thursday with two teams jockeying for playoff positions. Trevor Lawrence has brought the offense to life, making stars of Christian Kirk, Evan Engram and Zay Jones. The Jets have provided some offensive thrills, but their strength is a defensive backfield that has thwarted opposing passers and pass-catchers. Saturday will be highlighted by a divisional matchup pitting the strongest teams in the NFC; the Philadelphia Eagles (13-1) at the Dallas Cowboys (10-4). The Eagles may be without MVP candidate Jalen Hurts, who suffered a sprained throwing shoulder during their victory in Week 15 against the Chicago Bears. Fortunate to have a seasoned backup quarterback in Gardner Minshew, they remain one of the more balanced and difficult opponents for any team to face. Christmas day leads with the Green Bay Packers (6-8) at the Miami Dolphins (8-6). Both teams will avoid the harsh weather in Miami, which will hopefully provide a higher scoring matchup with star quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Tua Tagovailoa threading passes to dynamic targets Christian Watson, Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. The Los Angeles Chargers (8-6) travel to the Indianapolis Colts (4-9-1) to round out the week on Monday night. The Chargers have a must win matchup against a Colts team that is trending in all the wrong directions: elite running back Jonathan Taylor was placed on injured reserve, Matt Ryan has been benched again and former championship-winning quarterback Nick Foles will find himself under center against a difficult pass defense.
