I had the great opportunity to sit down with filmmaker and musician Dick Rude to discuss his film “Quit” which was released on various streaming platforms (release information at Strike Back Studios) June 25th.
“Quit,” as Mr. Rude would say, is about a couple who travels to the desert in an effort to quit smoking, but this effort speaks more to their relationship, and the film explores the more complex truths of different aspects of human nature, including our relationship with addictive behaviors and substances. Starring Diora Baird and Noah Segan, “(Quit), is more of a metaphor for their relationship,” says Mr. Rude among other insights exploring the relationship of the characters with pleasures and things we use to make ourselves happy that ultimately bring us pain and more.
