In this weeks episode of the Music City Drive-In podcast we talked about the Supporting categories for the upcoming Oscars. Who we thought was going to win and who could play potential spoiler, and you can listen to that below.
Best Supporting Actor
My Personal Rankings
1. Leslie Odom Jr. – “One Night in Miami”
2. Daniel Kaluuya – “Judas and the Black Messiah”
3. Paul Raci – “Sound of Metal”
4. Lakeith Stanfield – “Judas and the Black Messiah”
5. Sacha Baron Cohen – “The Trial of the Chicago 7”
Who Will Win: Daniel Kaluuya – “Judas and the Black Messiah”

My preference is Leslie Odom Jr. but Kaluuya being an Oscar-winning actor just makes me giddy inside. He was Fred Hampton in every way, and the passion that he brought to that role is what stood out to me. I am consistently blown away by what he brings to every single one of his roles.
Who Might Play Spoiler: Paul Raci – “Sound of Metal”
Could Borat win? Maybe. Could votes be split between Kaluuya and Stanfield? Maybe. But my underdog is Paul Raci. I think snagging that Best Picture nomination was outstanding for the film and remarkable for his chances. I do believe Kaluuya runs away, but Raci could play spoiler.
