TNF Preview, Week 15

Transient Chargers troll 'visiting' Raiders with 'Viva Las Vegas' | Las Vegas Review-Journal

We’re nearing the end of the NFL season, and the end of the fantasy season as most leagues move into the semi-finals. And that action kicks off tonight as the Chargers (4-9) and Raiders (7-6) clash for Thursday Night Football.

The Raiders are still in the playoff race, but just barely. The team lost to the Colts, delivering a serious blow to their quest for the playoffs. Following that, the Raiders made a change at defensive coordinator, and now they have to face a tough offense in Justin Herbert and the Chargers on a short week.

The Chargers, meanwhile, have had an up-and-down season. But for the most part the offense has looked solid behind rookie-of-the-year candidate Herbert. These divisional rivalries typically produce fierce and competitive games, and this could as well. If nothing else, let’s hope to see some offensive fireworks.

For the Chargers, Herbert is a QB1, Austin Ekeler is an RB1 and Keenan Allen is a WR1. Hunter Henry is a decent play at tight end and Mike Williams is more of a boom-or-bust option at flex. It’s important to watch game reports, as both Allen and Williams are questionable, with Allen being a potential game-time decision.

For the Raiders, Derek Carr has been solid of late and the Chargers’ defense has been fantasy-friendly. He’s a QB2. Henry Ruggs is Out, giving Nelson Agholor added appeal as a flex option, while Darren Waller is a TE1, and one of the best in the game. The real question is running back, where Josh Jacobs has struggled some of late. He’s still an RB2, but I’ve tempered some expectations.

Prediction: The Raiders find a way to win and keep their hopes alive.
