Over/Under: Indianapolis Colts & Houston Texans

With the NFL season right around the corner (crossing fingers, toes, and nose), I am going to kick off a series where I breakdown each division in the NFL. Recap the key additions, subtractions from the offseason and tell you what you should bet on the Over/Under for each team.

Today I am going to continue my series within the AFC South and tackle the Indianapolis Colts.

Key Additions: Philip Rivers, Xavier Rhodes, DeForest Buckner, Michael Pittman Jr, Jonathan Taylor

Key Subtractions: Devin Funchess, Dontrelle Inman, Eric Ebron, Joe Haeg, Adam Vinatieri

Last years record: 7-9
Strength of Schedule: .502 (T-16)
Vegas Over/Under Win Total: 8.5

The Colts were 7-9 after hearing the news of Andrew Luck retiring mere weeks before the NFL season starting. The season felt like somewhat of a loss as they were adjusting with Brisset as the starting QB.

The offseason came, and we have a new sheriff in town, Philip Rivers. I loved this pickup, it’s low-risk (even though they paid him handsomely) and I think it will pay off in a big way. They also added Michael Pittman Jr. and who I believe was the best running back in this draft class Johnathan Taylor.

The one thing to keep an eye on is T.Y. Hilton, can they get 16 games out of him? He is already on the injury reserved list to begin camp. If he does not play full 16 games, I think they need to look outside of the organization to bring in some more depth at the position.

They stole Buckner away from the 49ers in a move which I loved. I love this team this year, and I expect big things from them.

The Verdict:

Colts Over/Under: 8.5 – I am all in on the over.
2020 Record: 11-5

The Colts are one of my sleeper teams in the AFC to make some big moves this year. I need to see some consistency from the wide receiver position, but I think this could be a HUGE year for the Colts.

Key Additions: Brandon Cooks, Randall Cobb, David Johnson

Key Subtractions: DeAndre Hopkins, Lamar Miller, Carlos Hyde, D.J. Reader, Johnathan Joseph, Barkevious Mingo

Last years record: 10-6
Strength of Schedule:
.518 (T-8)
Vegas Over/Under Win Total:
7.5

Houston Texans trade DeAndre Hopkins and a 4th round pick for David Johnson, 2020 2nd round pick, and 2021 4th round pick.

That’s it. That’s all I am going to say.

The Verdict:

Texans Over/Under: 7.5 – SMASH THIS UNDER and thank me later
2020 Record: 6-10

This team will implode in 2020, and they need to make sure they fire Bill O’Brien before they lose the best thing that’s every happened to this franchise in DeShaun Watson.
