The NFL Season is nearly upon us. The season kicks off on Wednesday, September 9. Between now and then, we’ll be previewing all 32 NFL Teams along with playoff picks. One team will be previewed each day, beginning with the Super Bowl-winning Seahawks and ending with the New York Jets. Check back each day for the next installment!

The Eagles came off a Super Bowl win and had a solid if unimpressive season. Questions about inefficiency dogged the offense in general and Jalen Hurts in particular all year. There was unhappiness and some injury issues. All the while, the Eagles did well enough to win the NFC East and make the playoffs. But they were bounced in the Wild Card Round, ending their quest for a repeat title. Now, the team is hoping to return to form in 2026. Let’s dive in.

Off-Season Changes

The Eagles weren’t happy with the offense in 2025, so it’s no surprise that Offensive Coordinator Kevin Patullo was let go, with Sean Manion now in the role. The team also parted ways with disgruntled receiver A.J. Brown, who was traded to the New England Patriots. The team also parted ways with a handful of defenders, including Jaelan Phillips, Joshua Uche, and Azeez Ojulari on the defensive line, linebacker Nakobe Dean, and safety Reed Blankenship.

But the team also worked to re-load. On defense, the team added veteran edge A.J. Epenesa and cornerback Tariq Woolen. On offense, the Eagles brought in veteran receivers Marquise “Hollywood” Brown and Dontayvion Wicks. But the big strikes on offense came in the draft. The team brought in tight end Eli Stowers, who could be the player of the future at that position.

But the big pick was receiver Makai Lemon. Lemon finished with 79 receptions for 1,156 yards and 11 touchdowns last year for USC. He provides the team with another big option in the passing game and could have a bigger opportunity in 2026 with Brown now in New England.

Fantasy Impact

The questions for the Eagles’ offense usually surround Hurts. He’s won a Super Bowl and been a solid starter for the Eagles and for fantasy, but he’s not always consistent. He should still have low-end QB1 upside. In the backfield, it’s all about Saquon Barkley. He looked like an MVP in 2024 and was more of a high-end RB2 in 2025. Where will he be this year? I still want to believe he’s a low-end RB1.

In the passing game, the Eagles still have DeVonta Smith at receiver and Dallas Goedert at tight end. Both have been good the past few seasons, and both should be the focus of the passing game this year. I like Smith as a WR2, with Lemon as a WR3 with upside. I like Goedert to finish in the TE1 range again in 2026.

Prediction

The Eagles are still a talented team that should be in the playoff picture. They could easily win the NFC East again, but it doesn’t feel like a lock. The question is how the offense progresses, and whether the defense holds up. Still, I’d be surprised if the Eagles didn’t make the playoffs.
