Just in time for the month of love, Kevin James is looking for romance in the new film Solo Mio, which opens on Friday. In honor of its release, this week’s binge looks at five other films from Kevin James. Films appear in chronological order.

Hitch (2005)
About
: Here, James wasn’t the star. He played second fiddle to Will Smith, but he brought some of the most hilarious sequences to life. You couldn’t help but root for him. This, too, is a good date night movie.

I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2007)
About:
This continues a long career working with Adam Sandler, but this was the first time James was a co-lead. Together, they play a pair of firemen who decide to get married for the benefits despite not being gay. It’s a concept that probably doesn’t hold up as well 19 years later, but it was a modest hit at the time.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009)
About
: Here, James plays an overzealous mall security guard. It seemed like a fun enough concept, though the film ends up being just OK. It did inspire a sequel, released in 2015. So, it has its fans.

Zookeeper (2011)
About
: This is a wild premise comedy about a zookeeper looking for love and getting help in the most unlikely of places. I enjoy James, but this concept was something of a stretch. Like many of his films, he works better on the small screen.

Home Team (2022)
About
: This comedy on Netflix was a football story based on a true story, of sorts, focusing on what Sean Payton did in the year he was suspended from the NFL. James played Payton in the film. It wasn’t terrible, but it certainly wasn’t great.
