We’re into the summer season, and people will soon have more time on their hands. We’re also only about a month away from the latest big screen release from Pixar! Earlier this year we got three films re-released in theaters that were previously home releases, too. It’s a big year for Pixar. So, to honor the studio, I’m looking at my Top 20 Pixar films. Today, it’s No. 20 to No. 11. Films appear in ascending order!

No. 20: Brave (2012)
About:
This tale of a Scottish princess probably doesn’t appear on a lot of people’s lists. I think it’s one of the more under-rated films from Pixar, but as you’ll see I have a different take on the studio’s films.

No. 19: Ratatouille (2007)
About:
This is one of the studio’s oldest films, and one that has a beloved cult following. I love the idea about a rat (voiced by Patton Oswalt) who dreams of being a French Chef. There are some fun moments here, which helped it make the list for me.

No. 18: Monsters University (2013)
About:
The Pixar list contains plenty of sequels and plenty of franchises. This is the first sequel on the list, a follow up to Monsters, Inc. This returns Mike (Billy Crystal) and Sully (John Goodman) but takes the action back to their start. It’s a fun idea that has a good voice cast.

No. 17: Monsters, Inc. (2001)
About
: I have these back-to-back. I prefer the original, but as you can see, I enjoyed both. Crystal and Goodman are fun in these characters. I also enjoy the story here. This is another older one, but it seems to have a decent following, even spawning a more recent series spin-off.

No. 16: Onward (2020)
About:
This is part of a group of Pixar films that ended up having more of a home release due to the pandemic. It features Chris Pratt and Tom Holland voicing brothers who go on a journey together. I enjoyed the story and got drawn into the emotions of it. I feel like this is an under-rated entry.

No. 15: Wall-E (2008)
About
: I’m lower on this than most, I realize that. There are some original elements in this film and it’s a clever idea. I’m also taken with what it says about the potential future of humanity. But it just doesn’t hit as emotionally hard for me as others from Pixar.

No. 14: Luca (2021)
About
: This is another that ended up getting a streaming release. It bounced into theaters in March, which was fun. I enjoy the friendship and the voice work, here, too. But what lands it in this spot for me is the visuals. This has an incredible look.

No. 13: The Incredibles 2 (2018)
About:
This sequel picks up mostly where the first left off. I enjoy the set up here and the family of superheroes we follow. It’s not quite as entertaining as the original, but I enjoy this franchise quite a bit.

No. 12: Toy Story 4 (2019)
About
: We probably didn’t need a fourth installment of Toy Story, but this film actually delivers. It’s the only one in the franchise not in my Top 10, but that’s more of a testament to the quality of Pixar than any failings of the franchise. I did enjoy the addition of Keanu Reeves here.

No. 11: Turning Red (2022)
About
: The last of the Pixar films that got pushed straight to streaming. It finally got a theatrical run this February. It’s a beautiful story that has some really important messages. I enjoy the characters and the journey. This is an under-rated gem.
