The 2023 Academy Award nominations are a little over a month away. Last month, I shared my first thoughts on each of the big categories. Today, I look at the Best Picture Race and see who has moved up and down my rankings.
As we inch closer and closer to the nominations, I will start posting these on a bi-weekly basis. Once we hit January, I will update them before the nominations come out and look at who will take home the Oscars after the nominations are announced.

Thoughts: Best Picture nominations seem to have a healthy balance of locks and maybes. With it being top-heavy of films expected to garner recognition in the other categories, the bottom half can see a few picks up of nominations, but not a healthy dose of them. That said, Oppenheimer continues to have the love it deserves. I slightly changed my winner pick, and that is Barbie. I feel like we are going to have a Barbenheimer written all over it with a split for Director and Best Picture.
