Jalmari Helander talks about making of ‘Sisu’

Finnish director Jalmari Helander returned to his home country to film blood-fest action thriller Sisu, which hits theatres on 28 April.

The film follows war veteran Aatami Korpi (Jorma Tommila) in a search for gold before he finds himself on the path of a Nazi platoon led by Bruno Helldorf (Aksel Hennie). A violent clash for victory is underway as Helldorf discovers he may be in over his head against the silent protagonist.

Helander took the time with Music City Drive-In to discuss the inspiration behind Sisu and how his working relationship with Tommila has developed after working on several projects together.
