The month of March has a wide variety to offer moviegoers this year. From action to horror to independent cinema, there is something for everyone to enjoy this month.
March 3rd:
- Creed III is Michael B. Jordan’s directorial debut. The film is written by Ryan Coogler and Zach Baylin. Michael B. Jordan also stars beside Tessa Thompson, Jonathan Majors, Wood Harris, Mila Davis-Kent, Florian Munteanu, and Phylicia Rashad. It is distributed by United Artists.
- Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba is a Crunchyroll film by director Haruo Sotozaki and writer Koyoharu Gotouge. The movie stars Natsuki Hanae, Kana Hanazawa, Toshio Furukawa, Akira Ishida, Kengo Kawanishi, and Katsuyiki Konishi. There is also an English dub with its own set of actors.
- Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre has an ensemble class including Jason Statham, Aubrey Plaza, Bugzy Malone, Josh Hartnett, Cary Elwes, Lourdes Faberes, and Hugh Grant. Guy Ritchie writes and directs along with writers Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies. This film is distributed by Lionsgate.
- Sundance Film Festival movie Palm Trees and Power Lines will be released in theaters and distributed by Momentum Pictures. It stars Lily McInerny, Jonathan Tucker, and Gretchen Mol. The film is written and directed by Jamie Dack and also written by Audrey Findlay.
- Oscar nominee and box office sensation RRR is back in theaters. It was written and directed by S.S. Rajamouli and stars Ram Charan, Rama Rao, Ajay Devgn, Ray Stevenson, Shriya Saran, Alison Doody, Alia Bhatt, Makrand Deshpande, Olivia Morris, and Chatrapathi Sekhar. Variance Films is the distributor.
March 5th:
- Casablanca will be re-released again by Fathom Events as a special engagement. The film stars Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Paul Henreid, Claude Rains, Conrad Veidt, Peter Lorre, and Frank Puglia. It was adapted by Julius J. Epstein, Philip G. Epstein, and Howard Koch and directed by Michael Curtiz.

March 10th:
- 65 is an action thriller starring Adam Driver, Ariana Greenblatt, and Chloe Coleman that releases wide on March 10th. It is written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, the writers of the A Quiet Place films. Also, Sam Raimi produced 65. It is a Sony Pictures release.
- Scream VI is the next installment in the Scream series. It will be released merely a year after Scream (5) by Paramount Pictures. This insanely packed cast includes Courtney Cox, Dermot Mulroney, Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Tony Revolori, Samara Weaving, Jack Champion, Liana Liverato, Devyn Nekoda, Roger L. Jackson, Josh Segarra, and the long-awaited return of Hayden Panettiere. Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olipin and Tyler Gillett of the previous film are returning along with writers James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.
- Champions is the solo directorial debut of Bobby Farrelly and is written by Mark Rizzo and David Marques. It stars Woody Harrelson, Kaitlin Olson, Ernie Hudson, Cheech Marin, and Matt Cook. It is a Focus Features release that follows a basketball coach who is ordered by the court to coach a basketball team where every member has an intellectual disability.
March 17th:
- Shazam! Fury of the Gods, the sequel to 2019’s Shazam!, has finally made it into theaters. The movie stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Djimon Hounsou, Rachel Zegler, Lucy Liu, Faithe Herman, Grace Caroline Currey, Meagan Good, Adam Brody, and Helen Mirren. This Warner Bros. film retains its director and screenwriter from the previous film, David F. Sandberg and Henry Gayden.
- Moving On is an 85-minute film that stars 80 For Brady costars Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda and adds Malcolm McDowell and Richard Roundtree as the supporting cast. The film is written and directed by Paul Weitz. It is distributed by Roadside Attractions.
- Pinball: The Man Who Saved the Game stars Mike Faist, Crystal Reed, Dennis Boutsikaris, Christopher Convery, Connor Ratliff, and Mike Doyle. The film is written and directed by brothers Austin and Meredith Bragg. This Vertical Entertainment film will be on limited release this weekend.
- Wildflower is also in limited release this weekend. It’s directed by Matt Smukler and written by Jenna Savage. The cast includes Kiernan Shipka, Dash Mihok, Samantha Hyde, Charlie Plummer, Alexandra Daddario, Brad Garrett, Reid Scott, Erika Alexander, Jacki Weaver, and Jean Smart. It is distributed by Momentum Pictures.

March 24th:
- John Wick 4 is the latest installment in the John Wick franchise. This Lionsgate release stars Keanu Reeves, Rina Sawayama, Lance Reddick, Ian McShane, Bill Skarsgård, Shamier Anderson, Donnie Yen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Clancy Brown, Scott Adkins, Bridget Moynahan, and Marko Zaror. Chad Stahelski continues his streak of directing the John Wick series. Shay Hatten returns as a writer, and Michael Finch joins him for John Wick 4.
- A Good Person is written and directed by Zach Braff. It stars Florence Pugh, Morgan Freeman, Molly Shannon, Celeste O’Connor, and Chinaza Uche. It is a United Artist film that will be on limited release this weekend and wide release next weekend.
March 31st:
- Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is based on the game of the same name. This film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, Daisy Head, and Hugh Grant. The film is written and directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley. It is distributed by Paramount Pictures.
- A Thousand and One is written and directed by A.V. Rockwell and stars Teyana Taylor, Will Catlett, Joshia Cross, Aven Courtney, and Aaron Kingsley Adetola. The film is releasing wide this weekend and will be distributed by Focus Features.
- Space Oddity is Kyra Sedgwick’s directorial debut. The cast includes Kyle Allen, Alexandra Shipp, Madeline Brewer, Carrie Preston, Simon Helberg, Christopher Jackson, Andrew Polk, Arden Myrin, and Kevin Bacon. It is written by Rebecca Banner. The movie is set to be distributed by Samuel Goldwyn Films and is limited release this weekend.
- Spinning Gold was written and directed by Timothy Scott Bogart. There is a large ensemble cast for this film as well, including Jeremy Jordan, Michelle Monaghan, Jay Pharoah, Lynsey Fonseca, Dan Fogler, Peyton List, James Wolk, Michael Ian Black, Chriss Redd, Vincent Pastore, Nick Sandow, Sebastian Maniscalco, and Jason Isaacs, not to mention the cameo appearances in the film. It is also in limited release this weekend and distributed by Variance Films.
Streaming:
- Chang Can Dunk is releasing on March 10th on Disney+. Jingyi Shao wrote and directed the film which stars Bloom Li, Ben Wang, Dexter Darden, Mardy Ma, and Dominic Pace.
- Boston Strangler stars Keira Knightley, Carrie Coon, Alessandro Nivola, David Dastmalchian, Morgan Spector, and Chris Cooper. It is written and directed by Matt Ruskin, and will release on Hulu on March 17th.
- The Magician’s Elephant is a Netflix Animation film. It is directed by Wendy Rogers and written by Martin Hynes. The film stars Noah Jupe, Benedict Wong, Sian Clifford, Pixie Davies, Natasia Demetriou, Dawn French, Brian Tyree Henry, Aasif Mandvi, Miranda Richardson, Cree Summer, Lorraine Toussaint, and Mandy Patinkin. It premieres on Netflix on March 17th
- Murder Mystery 2 releases on March 31st on Netflix. The film stars Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, Mélanie Laurent, Jodie Turner-Smith, Annie Mumolo, Tony Goldwyn, and Mark Strong. James Vanderbilt returns as the writer, but now Jeremy Garelick directed this sequel.
- Tetris stars Taron Egerton, Toby Jones, Nikita Yefremov, Roger Allam, Anthony Boylle, Togo Igawa, Ken Yamamura, Matthew Marsh, Rick Yune, and Ben Miles. It is directed by Jon S. Baird and written by Noah Oink. It will release on Apple TV+ on March 31st.
