Awards Season is back folks!
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has had some serious issues over the past couple of years. With accusations of accepting bribery, knowingly breaking their own rules and favoritism on nominees, the heat is on them to prove they can turn things around. This makes this year’s nominations all the more up in the air, which means very damn exciting for us that follow this thing!
I’m still predicting them to be kinda somewhat still in their ways. Things don’t change overnight, or in this case, in a year.
Here are some of my quick-fire thoughts on how things will pan out:
Due to its fast-paced, glamorous style, I think they’ll love Elvis.
You can never doubt Speilberg!
They love a musical so don’t be surprised if Matilda pops up in one or maybe even two categories.
Not sure what to make of She Said and Bones and All.
Don’t think TAR will be the Globes thang (though I’d love it to be)
We always have an amazing opportunity to have a widely diverse group of black, Asian and other ethnic nationalities be recognized this season, let’s hope the Globes don’t start a nasty pattern of this not being the case!
