Mid-Century Director Sonja O’Hara Interview

Lionsgate has another movie set to hit Select Theaters and VOD today in Mid-Century. I had the pleasure of talking to the film’s director, Sonja O’Hara about the film.

SYNOPSIS: Academy Award® nominee Bruce Dern (Nebraska), Stephen Lang (Avatar franchise), and Shane West (“Gotham”) highlight this stylish, intense horror-thriller. Looking for a change one weekend, ER doctor Alice and her husband, Tom, rent a glamorous mid-century modern home designed by architect Frederick Banner. As they investigate the home, they learn that Banner and his two wives died mysteriously—yet their spirits are very much alive. As they meet Banner’s deranged son, they realize they must escape the home or succumb to its madness.

The film is a psychological thriller filled with a starstudded cast that elevates the film. O’Hara’s touch as a director is felt here as she smartly uses the camera to her advantage to bring this wild story to life.

I talked to Sonja about creating the film, balancing the timeframes of the film and working with the star-studded cast.
