Inside the Beauty Bubble Director Interview

The 2022 Dance with Films Festival is June 9-19. Inside the Beauty Bubble is one of the films that will debut at the festival.

Plot: The film chronicles salon owner and self-proclaimed Hairstorian Jeff Hafler as he prepared for a showcase of the hair care artifacts he’s collected over the years when COVID strikes. Deep in the heart of Joshua Tree in the high desert of California the film chronicles a year of challenges and family as Jeff prepares for his show at the San Francisco Airport and weathers the pandemic.

I had a chance to sit down with co-directors Cheri Gaulke and Cheryl Bookout as they shared what drew them to Jeff’s story, the challenges of making a film during the pandemic and what they hope audiences get from the film.
