Wide Receivers Land New Deals

On Thursday a pair of marquee receivers landed in new locations as part of a massive week of moves in the NFL. It’s time to dive into the latest moves in the Free Agent Frenzy.

Adams Traded to the Raiders

Davante Adams is on the move, traded Thursday from the Green Bay Packers to the Las Vegas Raiders. Adams had received the Packers’ Franchise Tag earlier this off-season and signed a new, five-year contract for $141.25 million with the Raiders. Adams has 669 receptions for 8,121 yards and 73 touchdowns in eight seasons with the Packers. Adams gives the Raiders a huge new weapon as they compete in the loaded AFC West.

The Packers, in return, got the Raiders’ ’22 First and Second round picks. While the Packers have star quarterback Aaron Rodgers back at quarterback, the team has a huge void in the passing game. The Packers will need to be active in free agency or the draft—where they hold the No. 22 and No. 28 picks in the draft.

Robinson Signs with the Rams

Free Agent receiver Allen Robinson signed a three-year, $45 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams. Robinson is an eight-year veteran, spending four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars and four seasons with the Chicago Bears. He has 495 receptions for 6,409 yards and 40 touchdowns. He gives the Rams another passing weapon along with Cooper Kupp.

The Rams are still working to bring back Odell Beckham, Jr., who was acquired in a mid-season trade with the Browns. The team also has veteran Robert Woods, though it’s rumored the Rams are listening to offers for Woods, who is rehabbing from a torn ACL.

Miller Signs With the Bills

Pass rusher Von Miller has a new home. The two-time Super Bowl Champion signed a six-year, $120 million deal with the Buffalo Bills. Miller has 115.5 sacks in 10 years. He gives the Bills added punch in the pass rush as they compete in the crowded AFC. The Bills also added veteran tight end O.J. Howard on a one-year deal. Howard, who has 119 receptions for 1,737 yards and 15 touchdowns in five seasons in Tampa Bay, will add to a tight end group led by Dawson Knox.

Veteran Running Backs Sign

Raheem Mostert is moving from the 49ers to the Miami Dolphins, signing a one-year, $3.25 million contract. Damien Williams, meanwhile, is signing with the Atlanta Falcons after spending last season with the Chicago Bears.

Mostert spent the last six seasons with the 49ers and will re-team with new Dolphins Head Coach Mike McDaniel in Miami. He had 1,610 yards and 11 touchdowns with the 49ers, adding 36 receptions for 361 yards. He adds to a running back room that includes newly signed Chase Edmonds and Myles Gaskin, among others.

Williams has had stints with the Miami and Kansas City in addition to Chicago. He’s rushed for 1,395 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also has 154 receptions for 1,209 yards and 11 touchdowns. He joins a running back room that includes veteran Mike Davis.

News and Notes:

  • Hayden Hurst signed a one-year deal with the Cincinnati Bengals. Hurst has 125 receptions for 1,304 yards and 12 touchdowns in four seasons. He should fill the void left by C.J. Uzomah, who signed with the New York Jets.
  • The Bears added receivers Byron Pringle and Equanimeous St. Brown. Pringle signs with the Chicago after playing with the Kansas City Chiefs, while St. Brown was with the Green Bay Packers.
