Going into Poupelle of Chimney Town, I knew very little about the film or what it was about. So, upon watching it in preparation for my interview with Tony Hale, I was excited to see what the film had in store for me.
The film follows Poupelle (Tony Hale), who is looked at as a monster by most until he meets Lubicchi (Antonio Raul Corbo), who tries to change his perception. Poupelle is on a mission to prove to everyone in the town that the stars are real.
The story within the film preaches kindness and love that we should share no matter our circumstances. It also talks about loving ourselves and others no matter how they look or how different they may be. Akihiro Nishino wrote this beautiful tale of love and compassion that Parents across the globe should seek out to share with their kids. I believe parents should take notes themselves.
In my conversation with Tony Hale, I wanted to explore the idea of the story, bringing the story to the US and working with co-star Antonio Raul Corbo who shared fantastic chemistry.
