Aunjanue Ellis on ‘The Subject’ + Working with Jason Biggs + more

The Subject is a new thought-provoking film from writer Chisa Hutchinson who provides us with a commentary that leaves you asking questions far after you’ve walked away from watching the movie. The Subject follows a white documentary filmmaker (Jason Biggs) as he is trying to overcome the fallout of his last film that caught the murder of a Black teen on tape. Director Lanie Zipoy does a remarkable job taking this unbelievable script and bringing it to life on the big screen.

I had the pleasure of sitting down and talking to Aunjanue Ellis. We spoke about why she took on this role, trying to prepare for the role and what it was like working with Jason Biggs.

The Subject comes out in theaters and TVOD/Digital Platforms on October 22, 2021.
