7500 – Review

Director : Patrick Vollrath

Writer : Patrick Vollrath

Cast : Joseph Gordon – Levitt, Aylin Tezel

7500 is a 2019 action thriller film, as Wikipedia suggests where a group of terrorists hack a plane that was flying from Berlin to Paris. This movie is an Amazon Studios production, so by that, I quite figured it is going to be a low – production film.

So, after watching tons of flight dramas in movies and tv shows, we all have that story of how hijacking is supposed to happen. This movie takes quite an unusual turn of events right from the beginning. The story is weak and nothing is happening in the film for the first 30 minutes until things start going down.

Someone with little patience won’t continue watching this film to 30 minutes. Joseph Gordon gives a fabulous performance in the entire 90-minute runtime.

Movies shot in a single room can be quite tiring and nothing much to explore. Seeing it is a directorial debut of Patrick Vollrath, tries his best to bring the best out of the story on the screen.

This film was originally released in Locarno Film Festival in 2019 and has got mixed reviews since then. Amazon Studios are doing quite a few experiments by creating films like the 7500 and The Vast of The Night where sometimes on the screen there is nothing but dialogues and a black screen. The story could have been better if the production quality allowed it to be.

I would like to give this film 2/5

You can watch this movie on Amazon Prime Video.
