Coming off his directorial debut of The Rental (Ricky’s review, Jacob’s review), Dave Franco is set to play iconic rapper Vanilla Ice in the biopic To The Extreme (the title of Ice’s hit 1990 album).

According to Insider Franco has said he wants this film to be similar to 2017’s critically successful The Disaster Artist. His brother, James, who Dave played alongside, won the Golden Globe for his performance as Wiseau.

This movie will follow Vanilla Ice from a high school dropout selling cars in Dallas to having the first hip-hop single to top the Billboard charts. The script will be written by Chris Goodwin and Phillip Van.
