This Friday the horror film They Will Kill You hits theaters. It finds Zazie Beatz in a hotel from hell experience. In honor of the film’s release, this week’s binge looks at previous films featuring Beatz. Films appear in chronological order.
Deadpool 2 (2018)
About: This wasn’t Beatz first role, but it is probably one that put her on the map. She played Domino in the film opposite Ryan Reynolds and is one of the most fun parts of what’s a wild, crazy ride of a movie.
Joker (2019)
About: This isn’t a wild and crazy role, but it is integral. She plays a neighbor to Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck. She’s also the object of his affection and plays an integral role in understanding what’s happen to Arthur and in the film.
The Bad Guys (2022)
About: This is an animated feature, but she plays the voice of thief turned politician Diane Foxington. It’s a key role, and the main romantic foil for Sam Rockwell in the series. She returned in the sequel, too. She’s one of the most fun roles in the film.
Bullet Train (2022)
About: Back to live action, and back to action. Beatz plays one of a host of killers in this action film that’s a wild ride starring Brad Pitt. If you’re into over-the-top action adventures, this is certainly worth checking out.
Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die (2025)
About: This film from Gore Verbinski was released in February. It’s still playing in some theaters and if it’s near you, it’s worth seeking out. Beatz plays a key role on the team, and this is a wild ride. I liked this film a lot.
