Week 14 of the NFL season wraps up tonight with a matchup that has big playoff implications. The Philadelphia Eagles are in Los Angeles to battle the Chargers. Both are in a fight for a playoff seed, and every win counts. I’ll preview the game below. But first, let’s look at some takeaways from the rest of Week 14.
The Broncos are in the driver’s seat in the AFC
With a win over the Raiders, the Broncos moved to 11-2 on the season. They also moved into the No. 1 position in the AFC, ensuring that if they and the Patriots have the same record the rest of the way, the Broncos will be the AFC’s No. 1 seed. They now own the tiebreaker over the Patriots thanks to common opponents—specifically the Raiders—who the Broncos swept, and the Patriots lost to in Week 1.
Daniel Jones’ season is over
Jones has had a miraculous 2025 in a lot of ways. He’s done so much to help the Colts, who were one of the hottest teams in the AFC at the start. But he tore his Achilles Sunday, as the Colts lost a third straight to drop to 8-5 on the season. Worse yet for Jones, he’s likely done for most—if not all—of the 2026 season owing to suffering the injury in the first week of December. It’s a huge blow to Jones and to the Colts’ playoff chances.
The Steelers aren’t done yet
Despite the way they’ve looked of late, the Steelers still have something left in the tank. In a huge matchup in Baltimore on Sunday, the Steelers posted 27 points to get the win. It moves them to 7-6 on the season and back in the driver’s seat for a playoff berth.
And now, on to Monday’s game.
Philadelphia Eagles (8-4) at Los Angeles Chargers (8-4)
This is a big matchup for both teams. The Eagles are in first in the NFC East but looking for a better seed. The Chargers, meanwhile, are 2.5 games back in the AFC West and holding on to a Wild Card spot. Both teams are hungry for the win.
Jalen Hurts is a threat whenever he has the ball. He’s a low-end QB1 for me. In the backfield, Saquon Barkley has been solid but not spectacular. He’s an RB2 this week. I’m back in on A.J. Brown, who is heating up. He’s a low-end WR1 for me, while DeVonta Smith is a WR2, and Dallas Goedert is a TE2 with upside.
For the Chargers, injuries have taken a toll. Justin Herbert had surgery on his non-throwing hand this week, but he’s still set to start. He’s a QB2 for me. In the backfield, Omarion Hampton is back. He’s an RB2 for me this week. In the passing game, I like Ladd McConkey the best, as a WR2. Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston are both flex options.
I’m taking the Eagles.
