A crucial Week 16 in the NFL kicks off Thursday night with a battle between AFC West foes. The Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers are also locked up in a battle for the Wild Card in the AFC, with the outcome of this game helping determine seeding. The Broncos have a one-game lead, but the Chargers beat them once earlier this year. Can Denver turn the tables?
For the Broncos, Bo Nix is a good start at quarterback. He had three turnovers in Week 15, but he also tossed three touchdowns. He’s a great Superflex option with Top 12 upside. I also like Courtland Sutton, the most consistent target for the Broncos’ offense. He’s a WR2 for me. It’s hard to tell what is going to happen game-to-game with the running game, so in the fantasy playoffs I’d tend to stay away from them all. But with Jaleel McLaughlin ruled out, that makes me more interested in Javonte Williams as a flex option. I also like Devaughn Vele as a low-end flex option.
For the Chargers, Justin Herbert is dealing with an ankle injury and a good Denver defense. He’s a QB2 for me. Ladd McConkey is having a great season, but he might see a lot of Patrick Surtain II. He’s a low-end WR2 for me. I’m staying away from the Chargers’ backs and tight ends. Will Dissly looks to be out, but Hayden Hurst may return. Stone Smartt is also there, but I don’t trust anyone from that group. I see Quentin Johnston as a low-end, boom/bust flex option.
