This final week with byes kicks off with a great matchup on Thursday night as the Green Bay Packers head to Detroit to battle the Lions. Both teams made the playoffs in 2023 and both are on track for a return in 2024. The Lions sit at 11-1 and are tied for the best record in the NFL, while the 9-3 Packers have a great record but sit in third place in their own division.
Both teams played and won on Thanksgiving, so both are coming into this game on a full week’s rest. But both are banged up. The Lions’ defense, particularly up front, looks like a MASH unit, while the Packers will be without Romeo Doubs and Jaire Alexander. That adds a wrinkle to what figures to be one of the best matchups of Week 14.
For the Packers, Jordan Love is a low-end QB1. In the backfield, Josh Jacobs is having a great season and has been on fire of late. He comes into the game a little banged up, but he’s still one of the best backs in the league. He’s a low-end RB1 for me. In the passing game, I like Jayden Reed the best. He’s a WR2 for me. Tucker Kraft is having a solid season, giving him low-end TE1 upside for me. Christian Watson is a boom-or-bust WR3, while Dontavyion Wicks is a flex option for me.
For the Lions, Jared Goff is having a great season. He’s a low-end QB1 for me as well. In the passing game, Amon-Ra St. Brown is a WR1 and should have a nice game, especially with Alexander out. I like Jameson Williams as a flex play and Sam LaPorta as a low-end TE1. In the backfield, it’s all about Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery. Both are RB1s for me and both should be in your fantasy lineup.
