I had the pleasure of sitting down with Executive Producer and Star of the film Break, Darren Weiss. We talked about the process of making the film, preparing for the role, and the balance of Executive Producer and starring in the film.

Break is the perfect example of why independent filmmaking is essential because this was a great gritty thriller. There was some precision within the technical details of this film, from the way Will Wernick directed it to Daniele Truoccchio’s fantastic score that carries the film and the magnificent color palette from Akis Konstantakopoulos. They all played pivotal roles in making this film as good as it is.

The cast is strong, with Darren Weiss as Eli. Weiss bet on himself in this film by showcasing that not only can he lead a movie, but do so in a way that highlights a range that we’ve never seen from him before. There is a transition in this character to see Weiss slowly become this version of Eli we don’t see coming, and he knocks it out of the ballpark. His love interest in the film Millie, played by Braedyn Bruner, is a star in the making. Lastly, Jeff Kober is a veteran in the clubhouse and plays a great antagonist in this movie.
