We are nearly through eight weeks of the NFL season. All 32 teams were in action this week and we had some interesting results. Tonight, the Detroit Lions will look for win No. 6 against the Las Vegas Raiders. But before we preview that game, let’s look at some of the lessons we learned from the rest of the Sunday slate.

The Vikings are in trouble

Kirk Cousins helped guide the Vikings back to .500 with a 24-10 win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The Vikings started 1-4 and are surging. But Cousins was lost with a torn Achilles, which means his season is done. With Cousins and Justin Jefferson on IR, it’s hard to see the Vikings having enough to make the post-season.

The Jets are surging

The New York Jets looked to be in trouble when Aaron Rodgers was injured on the fourth play of the season. But a funny thing happened as Zach Wilson and the Jets managed to find their footing. With a win over the Giants on Sunday, the Jets moved to 4-3 and are making a run in a tight AFC. With a good defense, some big pieces on offense and the possibility of Rodgers returning for the post-season, the Jets are a team to watch.

Will Levis had a stellar debut

The Titans’ offense has been stuck in the mud most of the season. With Ryan Tannehill injured, the Titans turned things over to rookie Will Levis on Sunday. He had four touchdown passes and the Titans got a big 28-23 home win over the Falcons. Not only was a big day for Levis, but it’s also a big sign for the Titans, who may have found a long-term answer at quarterback.

And now, on to Monday Night Football.

Las Vegas Raiders (3-4) at Detroit Lions (5-2)

Both teams are coming into tonight’s game off a loss in Week 7. The Raiders stumbled in Chicago while the Lions were beaten badly by the Ravens. Both want to get back on track with a win tonight. But who will get it?

For fantasy, Jimmy Garoppolo is back, but he’s a low-end QB2 for me. I still like Davante Adams as a low-end WR1, while Jakobi Myers is a WR2/3 for me. Josh Jacobs is an RB2 with some upside.

For the Lions, I like Jared Goff as a low-end QB1 at home this week. Jahmyr Gibbs is in line for the primary backfield role, and I like him as a high end RB2. Amon-Ra St. Brown is a WR1, and Sam LaPorta is a TE1 for me. Jameson Williams has some big boom/bust potential, but if you need a home run shot, you could do worse.

I’m taking the Lions tonight.
