“I just want you to know everything I did this weekend I did for my family.”—Feng

Zoe’s (Zoe Chao) parents have been a mystery. Last week, as Ulysses (John Cho) shared his tale, it became clear why. Before sifting through the footage shot over the weekend and getting the inside scoop from Feng (Ken Jeong), Aniq (Sam Richardson) made sure to reach out to Vivian (Vivian Wu). He does his best to ensure that Vivian is able to share the truth of her affair with her daughters before the truth comes out.

Though he’s following Danner’s (Tiffany Haddish) lead, Aniq is still dedicated to protecting Zoe. Will he be able to continue that? It’s unclear. For now, we pick up the new pieces learned through the found-footage style tale narrated by Feng.

In it, we learn he is trying to get his business off the ground but suffering tremendous money troubles. His big hope was to convince Edgar (Zach Woods) to invest in his product, baobing. That meant a good showing at the reception. It doesn’t go as planned.

Instead, Feng finally connects with Edgar at the afterparty, only to get shot down. It’s seemingly crushing news. It also seems to give Feng some motive, but he admits he did everything for the love of his wife. Aniq can relate.

It also turns out Feng’s footage gives us another piece of information—that Edgar and Isabel (Elizabeth Perkins) were at odds. As the episode ends, Danner seeks to talk with Isabel, who says she knows who killed her son, and it definitely wasn’t Grace… next week’s penultimate tale ought to be fun.

Suspect Board

Well, we’re nearly to the end and I still have questions.

No. 1: Isabel. What was her beef with her son?

No. 2: Vivian. The truth is out, but it wasn’t what she wanted. Could she be a killer.

No. 3: Hannah and Grace. The girls are still hiding something.

No. 4: Feng. His motive is love, which means he can’t be ruled out.

No. 5: Sebastian. He seems to be part of Isabel’s scheme, but what does it mean?

No. 6: Ulysses. He doesn’t have a strong motive, but he could be hiding more.

No. 7: Travis. Could he be a wild card? Sure. Do I believe it? Not right now.
