“Should I secure a lawyer or just head straight to my execution.”—Hannah

When last we left, all the evidence was pointing toward Hannah (Anna Konkle). That seems a little convenient. In this week’s episode, we get to learn a little more about Hannah and why she might have wanted the wedding to not go forward.

Zoe (Zoe Chao), Aniq (Sam Richardson) and Danner (Tiffany Haddish) head to question Hannah. Aniq and Danner think they should question her alone, but Zoe demands she’s in. Soon, Hannah begins her tale, and it isn’t long before we get our first revelation—Hannah and Grace (Poppy Liu) had an affair.

Zoe doesn’t believe it. She thinks Hannah is a liar. When Aniq and Danner want to continue, it causes something of a rift between Zoe and Aniq. She heads to find her sister, convinced this is a lie. Turns out, it wasn’t.

Back to Hannah’s story—which is told in the style of a Wes Anderson film—we learn that when Grace opted to end the affair, Hannah thought of ways to change Grace’s mind. That’s where Travis (Paul Walter Hauser) comes in. While Hannah didn’t believe Edgar (Zach Woods) to be a criminal, she thought their shared desire to stop the wedding would work in her favor.

When the plan fell apart, Hannah resigned herself to moving on. Turns out that her plan included booking passage on an ocean liner and bidding Edgar farewell, offering him her G key as a gift. That, potentially, explains the presence of the key.

While Hannah never denied her potential motive for killing her brother, she denied doing it and offered a clue that pointed to someone else—Sebastian (Jack Whitehall). That looks like where we’re heading next!

Suspect Board

Here’s my latest ranking of potential suspects.

No. 1: Sebastian. I’ll admit, seeing as his episode is up next, that gives me pause. But he has the most motive at present.

No. 2: Ulysses. Nothing we’ve seen suggests he did it, but that’s what keeps me coming back to him.

No. 3: Isabel. There’s something off about dear old mom.

No. 4: Hannah. Her story makes a lot of sense, but she can’t be entirely ruled out.

No. 5: Feng. Grace’s father has been a minor player, but could he have done it?

No. 6: Grace. She hasn’t been very honest, which is concerning.

No. 7: Travis. It gets harder to believe he could or would have done it.
