Zero Contact is scheduled to hit select theaters and digital/demand on Friday, May 27th. We had the chance to sit down with one of the film stars, Aleks Paunovic.
Zero Contact Synopsis: high-tech thriller chillingly reimagines our isolated, virtual world. Hopkins plays Finley Hart, the eccentric genius behind a global data-mining program. Upon his death, five remote agents — including Finley’s son — are contacted by a mysterious A.I. entity to reactivate the initiative, which may enable time travel. As sinister events occur at each of the agents’ homes, they must decide whether entering their passwords will save the world…or destroy it.
One of the more impressive things about the film is that it used all technology to shoot it. Director Rick Dugdale developed this film in 16 countries in 90 days without a single handshake. When you factor those things in, you can’t help but be impressed with the end result.
The film is a good psychological thriller with a ton of mystery behind every sequence. I was impressed by how Cam Cannon’s script was scary in worrying about how we can all find ourselves in this predicament in the world of technology. In addition, the performances stand out from everyone because they aren’t face to face but interacting via Zoom.
I had the pleasure of chatting with Aleks Paunovic about what attracted him to the role, what it was like shooting this the way they did and more.
