Kenneth Branagh’s “Murder on the Orient Express,” featured an impressive cast, glamorized visuals, and ultimately felt hollow or fell flat for many, despite enjoyable vistas, clever writing, and an investment in practical filmmaking on a large scale. “Death on the Nile” seems to be making the same promises, and this trailer showcases a bit more intrigue and involvement with it’s cast (Gal Gadot, Tom Bateman, Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders, Letitia Wright, and Branagh himself reprising ‘Poirot‘) suggesting a tighter focus on the characters rather than scenery:
Here’s hoping for a step up from a gifted director who is currently enjoying significant success with “Belfast.” Directed by Kenneth Branagh and written by Michael Green, 20th Century Studios will release this in theaters February 11th, 2022.
