Trailer: “Redemption of a Rogue”

Trailer: “Redemption of a Rogue”

Time-loops have been about as popular as any Hollywood trend lately, but that doesn’t mean the premise has been explored beyond originality. Just reacting to the aura of the trailer, imagine if Guy Ritchie (‘Snatch,’ Rock n’ Rolla,’ ‘The Gentleman’) co-directed with Martin McDonagh (‘In Bruges,’ ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri’) to remake ‘Groundhog Day’ with a narrative twist that the local population is trapped WITH Bill Murray and gradually becomes aware that if he doesn’t make peace/obtain redemption for the complications of his life, they won’t be free.

Tell me I’m wrong:

It’s actually directed by Irish filmmaker Philip Doherty, who may resent being compared to other talented filmmakers before his first feature releases, but ‘Redemption’ WILL release in UK and Irish cinemas starting August 27th and no US release has been announced, and I’ll be excited to try to avoid those comparisons whenever that time comes.
