Film Release Date: November 13th

Director: Nathan Grossman

Synopsis: The story of teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg is told through compelling, never-before-seen footage in this intimate documentary from Swedish director Nathan Grossman. Starting with her one-person school strike for climate action outside the Swedish Parliament, Grossman follows Greta—a shy student with Asperger’s—in her rise to prominence and her galvanizing global impact as she sparks school strikes around the world. The film culminates with her extraordinary wind-powered voyage across the Atlantic Ocean to speak at the UN Climate Action Summit in New York City.

This documentary was an eye-opener on multiple levels. With a run time of an hour and thirty minutes, I have learned much about Greta Thunberg’s humble beginnings her trials, and the tribulations that she had to endure. I cannot say that this documentary will give you an educational crash course on why climate change is important, but what it does show you is the reaction and feedback of Greta’s journey to spread awareness.

I knew bits and pieces about Greta’s story but this documentary is a revelation on how we should start treating our planet. I was amazed by how much of a toll climate change affected a person’s life. I found my self a bit fatigued after watching this documentary. It has nothing to do with the material that was placed before me. It had to do with so many politicians and world leaders refusing to take action on something when the evidence was right in front of them. I’m glad we got to see a little bit more into Greta’s personal life and how supportive her parents were about her cause. It’s crazy to think what started as a simple school strike has evolved into.

Final: This a fantastic documentary that will make you think twice about the climate change affair that is affecting our world. This documentary can be an inspiring narrative to those who are looking to make a change. I Am Greta premieres on Hulu on November 13th.
