
For the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of being a part of the Denver Film Critics Society. Each year myself and colleagues from the Denver/Colorado region vote for our favorite films in a number of categories. This year’s nominated slate was announced earlier in January and on Friday, January 22, we announced our winners.
While Sinners is in the headlines for dominating the Academy Award nominations, it also dominated the DFCS awards. It took home seven awards, including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Ensemble. Another Academy favorite, One Battle After Another, took home two awards, including Supporting Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay.
