We’ve made it to Week 8 of the NFL Season. There’s only one game on Monday night, but there are six teams on a bye. That leaves just 11 games on Sunday. Below are the five games on the slate that I’m most excited to see.
Early Games:
New York Giants (2-5) at Philadelphia Eagles (5-2)
About: The Giants are always fun to watch. They were a couple extra points away from winning in Denver, and they beat the Eagles in Week 6. Now, they get the Eagles again. Can Philadelphia keep its offense going, or will Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo get the defending champs again. This should be fun.
Buffalo Bills (4-2) at Carolina Panthers (4-3)
About: The Bills stumbled into their bye week, losing two straight. The Panthers, meanwhile, are undefeated at home. But Bryce Young is out this week, so that could hamper things. Did the Bills use the bye week to get back on track? This is a fun battle of two teams with winning records.
San Francisco 49ers (5-2) at Houston Texans (2-4)
About: The 49ers have had a good season despite injuries. They come in at 5-2 and tied for the lead in the NFC West. The Texans, meanwhile, have struggled on offense with a sub-par offensive line and run game. Can C.J. Stroud get back on track? This should be a fascinating matchup in a must-win for the Texans.
Late Games:
Dallas Cowboys (3-3-1) at Denver Broncos (5-2)
About: The Cowboys have had an up-and-down season. The offense is going strong, but the defense hasn’t helped at times. The Broncos, meanwhile, have had the opposite. The Broncos’ defense is among the best in the league, but the offense has only sporadically shown up. Can the Broncos put together a complete game and win Sunday, holding on to the top spot in the AFC West, or will Dak get a big road win.
Sunday Night Football
Green Bay Packers (4-1-1) at Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2)
About: It’s Jordan Love versus Aaron Rodgers. That’s a quarterback matchup that most will want to see. This is also a battle of first place teams in their division that, despite a good record, haven’t always looked great. The Packers have been inconsistent, as have the Steelers. Who will come out on top in this Week 8 battle? It should be one of the better games of the week.
