This week we get a divisional battle on Thursday Night Football. And it’s a big one. The 49ers are 3-1 despite a rash of injuries. The Rams are 3-1 and could have been 4-0 were it not for some poor blocking on Special Teams. Now, they clash for the first time in 2025.
This is big for both teams. The 49ers have already topped the Cardinals and Seahawks, so a win over the Rams would give them a clean sweep of the first battles in the NFC West. The Rams, meanwhile, are looking for a win to help them keep pace with the best of the NFC.
For the 49ers, Brock Purdy, Jauan Jennings, and Ricky Pearsall are all injured out Thursday. Mac Jones is a QB2 for me. I don’t trust any of the receivers, though it could be a good week for DeMarcus Robinson to step up. Christian McCaffrey is maybe the healthiest of the 49ers key offensive stars, and he’s an RB1 for me.
For the Rams, Matthew Stafford is a high end QB2 with upside. He’s been great. I also love Puka Nacua, the No. 1 overall receiver through four weeks. He’s a WR1 for me. Davante Adams, who is a great Red Zone threat, is a WR2 for me, while Kyren Williams is an RB2.
Now, on to the Week 5 picks.
