The Rams did just enough in 2024. The team won 10 games and by mere percentage points took the NFC West crown. The Rams were able to oust the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card Round but ran out of magic against the Eagles. Now, with some big changes to the offense, they are looking to make another run in a crowded NFC West.
Off-Season Changes
The Rams parted ways with long-time receiver Cooper Kupp. Kupp departed for a spot in the division with the Seahawks, meaning he’ll see the Rams twice a year. The Rams also saw Demarcus Robinson leave for the 49ers. Defensively, the team lost linebacker Christian Rozeboom and defensive linemen Bobby Brown, among others.
But the team also re-loaded. To fill the void at receiver, the Rams added Davante Adams. Adams finished as WR11 playing for the Raiders and Jets. He provides a formidable No. 2 opposite Puka Nacua. The team also added to the backfield, snagging Jarquez Hunter with a Fourth Round Pick. The Rams also added a tight end prospect in Terrance Ferguson.
Fantasy Impact
At quarterback, the Rams still have Matthew Stafford. There are questions about his back. Behind him, they have a capable backup in Jimmy Garoppolo and the third-year man Stetson Bennett. Neither is Stafford, but either would be OK for the Rams. Still, for fantasy the hope is that Stafford remains on the field. He’s a QB2 for me.
In the backfield, the team has Kyren Williams. Williams was the most durable of the Rams skill-position stars, finishing as RB7. He got a new, three-year deal which ties him long-term to the Rams. I like him as an RB1 again. Blake Corum had a strong pre-season and has some pop to his game. He and Hunter are good handcuffs that could be low-end flex options if there’s enough volume. For now, they are bench holds.
In the passing game, it’s about Nacua and Adams, who form a great duo at wide receiver. Both are capable of WR1 numbers, which is a luxury. Nacua is my preference in dynasty and re-draft. I think he finishes Top 12. Adams could be close, but I have him in WR2 range. If Stafford is out, the passing volume overall may dip. Still, these two should produce. I’m not high on any other receiver having a meaningful role. I suspect both Tyler Higbee and Ferguson will see some targets, Higbee is the more reliable of the two and is a low-end TE2 for me.
The Bottom Line
The Rams had a good enough team to make the playoffs in 2024. Some of the faces have changed, but that should still be the case in 2025, too. There are questions around Stafford’s health, and the team will face still challenges in the division. But the Rams should be in the mix, finishing in the nine-to-11-win range.
