Curious in the overwhelming Marvel popularity across the globe, with Marvel films consistently raking in millions—if not billions—at the box office, this inspired CasinoDays to uncover the ultimate fan favourite Marvel superhero.
To do this, they utilised a list of the Marvel Cinematic Universe films to date, and took to Letterboxd, the fan favourite social media app for cinephiles, to see what the fans rated the films out of 5. The average was then taken for each film series to see which overall Marvel movies were rated the highest, suggesting they are the most loved superheroes.

CasinoDays can reveal the most loved Marvel superheroes are the Guardians of the Galaxy, with their three films scoring an average 3.8/5 on Letterboxd. Starring Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket and Groot, the highest rated film was the final film in the trilogy Vol. 3 (scoring 4/5) and was a box office hit from the get go, garnering a worldwide box office revenue of almost $771m.
The second most loved Marvel superheroes is Spider-Man, with an average Letterboxd score of 3.6 out of 5. Starring everybody’s favourite OTP, Peter Parker and MJ – played by real life lovers Tom Holland and Zendaya, the film franchise delivered huge numbers at the box office with Spider-Man: Far From Home raking in $1.13bn and Spider-Man: No Way Home: earning $1.92bn. Amongst fans, the highest rated out of the three was Spider-Man: No Way Home, scoring 3.8/5. The third film of the trilogy explored the multi-verse, delighting fans around the world by finally uniting all three actors to play the wall crawling wonder on screen for the first time (Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire).
In joint third of most loved Marvel superheroes is Black Panther and Captain America, with both film series scoring an average of 3.5/5. Both franchises were box office smashes, with both making it to the billions box office club, the first Black Panther earning a whopping $1.35bn and Captain America: Civil War earning $1.16bn – both films were the highest rated within their franchises respectively.
