The Fix is written and directed by Kelsey Egan. It is set in a futuristic world where the air is toxic, and survival depends on a costly pill sold by a wealthy man named O’Conners, portrayed by Daniel Sharman. This pill is marketed as the only way to stay safe from the deadly atmosphere. However, a girl named Ella, played by Grace Van Dien, stumbles upon a drug that protects her from the toxic air and gives her unique powers, transforming her appearance to resemble a dragonfly. It’s soon revealed that this drug was initially developed as a cheaper alternative to O’Conner’s expensive pill. Determined to maintain his monopoly, O’Conner will stop at nothing to keep this discovery hidden from the public.

The film did a fantastic job transporting viewers to this new world and story. Ella starts as unlikeable, but as the story continues, I gradually warm up to her and care for her. Grace was fantastic as Ella, and it was great seeing her portray a more fierce kind of character. Daniel was also good at being someone you disliked more and more as the story went on, and he was great at portraying a fantastic, ruthless villain who cares more about money than anything else.

The Fix has some great action scenes and visual effects, despite being a low-budget film, I thought it looked high-budget. I also liked how numerous boys wore jewelry in this film, and it wasn’t just the girls who did. When speaking with Kelsey Egan, she told me that Grace was so tough and did lots of her own stunts, she also didn’t wear shoes for nearly the whole film, even when doing action scenes. Kelsey also told me that Grace would learn and get taught by her stunt double.

I had a few issues with the film overall. It started very slowly, and I found myself waiting for it to pick up. However, I became engaged entirely after the first twenty minutes, and the story drew me in. I also would have liked Ella to have been likable and kinder, especially at the story’s start. The Fix ended rather abruptly, as it was clear the story was incomplete and this was only the first part in the series.

The Fix is a unique and interesting film that I highly recommend watching. The movie has a strong cast and great action. I’m excited to see where this story leads to in the sequel. Pre order now on Apple TV https://apple.co/4fmgXz6
