It’s hard to believe but we’re in October and the NFL season has reached its bye week stage. There are four teams out this week, which also features the first of three London games. That means an extra viewing window on Sunday, but only 12 games total on the Sunday schedule. Below is a look at the five games on this Sunday’s slate I’m most excited to see.

London Game:

New York Jets (2-2) at Minnesota Vikings (4-0)
About
: The Vikings have been on of the biggest surprises of the season, a perfect 4-0 behind Sam Darnold, who has been on fire. Now, they head to London for a “home” game against Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. The Jets, meanwhile, have been uneven. After two straight wins, the Jets could muster only nine points in a home loss to the Broncos. They’ll be looking to get right on Sunday, but we’ll see how they fare against a Vikings team that has been nothing short of impressive.

Early Games:

Baltimore Ravens (2-2) at Cincinnati Bengals (1-3)
About:
Neither of these teams is wild about their start. The Ravens lost the first two before rebounding with wins in Dallas and at home against Buffalo. The Bengals, meanwhile, lost the first three to start the season before outlasting the Panthers in Carolina on Sunday. Now, this is a crucial AFC North battle with two teams that need wins and are chasing the Steelers. This has huge stakes for Week 5.

Buffalo Bills (3-1) at Houston Texans (3-1)
About
: This is a battle of two division leaders, each of whom have three victories and one ugly loss. The Texans’ ugly loss came in Week 3 at Minnesota. The Bills ugly loss came on Sunday night in Baltimore. Now, both teams will be looking to get to four wins and open up more of a lead in their respective division as well as taking a step up toward homefield in the AFC playoff picture. This should have some fireworks. Not to mention, Stefon Diggs goes against his former team. This is THE game of the early window.

Late Games:

Green Bay Packers (2-2) at Los Angeles Rams (1-3)
About
: This is a pair of playoff teams from 2023 that have gotten off to a slow start, thanks in part to some injuries. The Packers are working Jordan Love back from a knee injury. He piled up the yardage and touchdowns in Week 4, but also the interceptions. He’ll look for a cleaner game against a porous Rams defense. The Rams, meanwhile, are still without their top two receivers. Can Matthew Stafford work his magic again? This one has some good stakes.

Sunday Night Football:

Dallas Cowboys (2-2) at Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1)
About:
This is an intriguing matchup. The Cowboys have been up-and-down, and now could be without some defensive stars. The Steelers, meanwhile, have been settling in with Justin Fields, who has taken command of the quarterback position. The Steelers are also sitting on top in the AFC North and want to stay there. To do that, they need to beat the Cowboys at home. Can they bottle up Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb? We’ll see.
