#AMFAD All My Friends Are Dead stars Jade Pettyjohn as Sarah and JoJo Siwa. Sarah and a group of her teen friends and influencers are heading to a festival. When their car breaks down, Sarah arranges nearby accommodation for the night. However, upon arrival, they discover they are being hunted and killed one by one, with the killer live-streaming their deaths. Each murder represents one of the seven deadly sins embodied by the characters. Can they uncover the killer’s identity and escape before it’s too late?

#AMFAD is a fantastic film that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It features comedic moments throughout and showcases the creative decisions of director Marcus Dunstan, particularly his innovative transitions. For instance, he transitions from a spilled drink into a map and seamlessly shifts from one room to another by cleverly using drawers and other elements. The film includes some creative gory kills, and the fight scenes are well-choreographed. The story also touches on themes like the fakeness of social media, peer pressure, and bullying; some friends are not the nicest of people. I also found the plot to be slightly sad and heartfelt. I found myself relating to Sarah at some moments throughout the film, especially when her friends were doing drugs, and she advised them not to.

I thought this was a clever touch to the film, as she didn’t want to lose her friends or be bullied, but she also knew it wasn’t good, so she didn’t want to push. The cast is excellent, but Jade is fantastic as Sarah. She gives a beautiful, badass performance, and her acting skills shine throughout the film. I also liked Sarah’s outfits and cool, badass boots. When speaking to Marcus, he said the first act is a coming-of-age story with an attitude, and I agree. I was also lucky enough to talk to Jade. She told me that the film is a sort of cautionary tale. Jade mentioned that social media can be romanticized and isn’t always accurate and that we should treat people the way we would want to be treated. The second half takes a dramatic twist, and the film turns into a completely new movie. I was shocked by the twist and couldn’t quite believe what happened. I did not see this twist coming due to a great cast. I enjoyed the twist, but I was a bit sad and disappointed that it turned out the way it did. I had hoped it would be someone else.

The film did have some very slight issues. For example, I found some scenes too dark; they needed slightly brighter lighting. I also wish that, at times, the explanations were covered more as they brushed over the backstory of how certain characters first met. Other than these small issues, the rest of the film was great.

Overall, #AMFAD All My Friends Are Dead is a fun slasher mystery film. JoJo and the rest of the cast are talented, and Jade delivers an exceptionally great badass performance throughout. The film sets up an intriguing sequel, and I’m excited to see what happens next with all these characters. Be sure to stay through the credits, as there are lots of important scenes. It’s a killer time not to be missed!4🌟
