The 2024 NFL Draft is in the books, so it’s time to take stock of the players as we head into rookie drafts. Over the next few pieces, I’ll be going position-by-position through my rookie rankings. Today, I conclude with TEs.

Class of 2024 Tight Ends:

Tier 1:
Brock Bowers, Raiders

About: Bowers is alone in his own tier. He went No. 13 overall to the Raiders. I didn’t love the landing spot, but he’s still the best tight end on the board. I could see him going in the First Round of rookie drafts, however I think I’d prefer him at the top of the Second Round.

Tier 2:
Ben Stinnott, Commanders
Theo Johnson, Giants
Ja’Tavion Sanders, Panthers

About: It’s a close call, but I’m going with these three in the next grouping. Stinott went in the Second Round, giving him great draft capital. Zach Ertz is in Washington, but that feels like a short-term fix. Johnson lands in a great spot with Darren Waller announcing his retirement during the draft. He could have a shot at meaningful snaps at the position. Sanders was my No. 2 tight end pre-draft, but his fall to the Fourth Round and landing spot in Carolina pushed him down a bit for me. Still, late Second to Third Round for these guys feels right depending on league size and player preference.

Tier 3:
Erick All, Bengals
Cade Stover, Texans
Tip Reiman, Cardinals
Johnny Wilson, Eagles

About: This is a group of guys I’d consider taking at the end of a rookie draft, especially if I had a Taxi Squad spot. All could have the best shot at relevance, going to a Bengals team without an entrenched starter. Stover is talented, but Dalton Schultz just signed a three-year deal. Reimann profiles as more of a blocker but he got Third Round draft capital. Wilson, meanwhile, was listed as a wide receiver, but I suspect he’ll make the changeover for the Eagles.

The Rest:
AJ Barner, Seahawks
Jared Wiley, Chiefs
Tanner McLean, Bengals
Jahiem Bell, Patriots
Brevyn Spann-Ford, Cowboys
Devin Culp, Buccaneers
Zach Heins, Chargers
Trey Knox, Vikings
Jack Westover, Seahawks

About: The rest of these guys went in the late rounds of the draft or signed as undrafted free agents. I don’t see any of them going in rookie drafts and I’m not sold that I’d stash any right now, either. The one that most interests me is Spann-Ford, though as an undrafted free agent he has work to do to stick on the roster.
