The 2023 NFL Season came to an end on Sunday afternoon. The playoff field is set, and I’ll be back with my preview and picks of Super Wild Card Weekend on Friday. For now, I’m making my picks for the year-end awards. It was an incredible season, and it will be interesting to see how things shake out in the post-season. For now, here’s my picks!

NFL MVP: Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
About
: Jackson led the Ravens to a 13-3 record in his 16 starts before sitting out Week 18. He led the team to the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC and to big victories over all contenders, including the 49ers and Dolphins in back-to-back weeks. His overall numbers as somewhat modest, but he accounted for 29 touchdowns and looked great for the league’s best team.

NFL Rookie of the Year: C.J. Stroud, Houston Texans
About:
The Texans went from the No. 2 overall pick in the draft to winners of the AFC South and the No. 4 seed. And it was largely due to that No. 2 overall pick, Stroud. He was 9-6 in the games he started, throwing for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns and five interceptions. He looked poised and had some incredible performances for one of the league’s most surprising teams.

NFL Coach of the Year: Kevin Stefanski, Cleveland Browns
About:
It was a tough choice for me. A big part of me wanted to go with DeMeco Ryans, who took those Texans to the top of the AFC South. But I’m going with Stefanski. The Browns finished 11-6 this season and are the No. 5 overall seed in the playoffs. That’s impressive. It’s more impressive when you consider they lost their best offensive player, Nick Chubb, early in the season and lost Deshaun Watson in the middle of the season. The Browns used four quarterbacks and patched it together with incredible defense. They found a guy to lean on in Joe Flacco, but it was the coaching all year that helped the Browns be one of the steadiest teams in the AFC.

Fantasy Football MVP: Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams
About:
I strongly considered rookie Puca Nacua here and in the Rookie of the Year slot. In the end, I went with his teammate, Williams. Running back is a tough position in fantasy football. So, when you find a diamond in the rough it can really make your season. Williams rushed for 1,144 yards and 14 touchdowns, averaging five yards per carry. He also caught 32 passes for 206 yards and three more touchdowns. He looks like a potential franchise back and was guy that largely went undrafted. If you grabbed him, he turned into fantasy gold.
